Background:
From raising seahorses and pufferfish at 12 years old to now researching Hawaiian reef species, I’ve always been drawn to the ocean. I’ve spent my life studying, caring for, and learning from the diverse marine life around me, striving to make a difference. Whether it’s through aquaculture, conservation, or simply sharing knowledge, I am committed to protecting our oceans and their inhabitants. Leaving my mark on the world, one fish at a time.
I've had the privilege of caring for a wide variety of reef species ranging from Gobies to Tang, through my knowledge and experience I hope to share resources that educate and empower other aquarists and researchers and push the aquarium industry toward sustainability while providing economic benefits to local economies.
A single wild Striped Burrfish (Chilomycterus schoepfii) larvae was collected in floating seaweed in Choctawhatchee Bay in 2019. The larvae was extremely robust from the beginning, eating frozen meaty food items almost as large as itself. The juvenile Striped Burrfish became very personable, and would expand itself to eat as much as possible.
I raised my first cohort of Lined Seahorses (Hippocampus erectus) in 2015 from a pregnant male collected from the Choctawhatchee Bay in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. New hatched Artemia and wild collected zooplankton were used as first feeds until juveniles accepted frozen mysis.
Four Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) were raised in 2025 from approximately 30 eggs produced from my mated pair. The eggs were hatched and raised in a 29 gallon aquarium using rotifers, dry feeds, and frozen feeds.
